Moroccan Barber. Trinity Village
Knoppiesdoring Street 36, Randburg, Gauteng, South Africa
Have you ever travelled abroad in your own country? This is exactly what it feels like when you set foot at the Moroccan Barber at Trinity Village. At once one is transported to the Marrakesh of old – a melting pot of foreign languages, sounds, sights and smells.
Since my husband discovered the Moroccan Barber at Trinity Village there is just no stop in him. Whether it’s for the excellent service, specialised coffee or mint tea I don’t know but he frequents this shop more than he manages his morning run.
Adil and his team tried (and most definitely succeeded in admirable fashion) to bring the Moroccan look and feel combined with the Middle Eastern ambiance to their shop. The aim is to make their customers feel comfortable and at ease from the moment they set foot in our premises. All the elements in the shop are inspired by Moroccan architecture. The mosaic wall is mimicked after Bab Mansour which is situated in Mekness ,a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the 4 royal cities in Morocco.
According to journeybeyondtravel.com, Bab Mansour is well known all around the world for its incredible architecture. “Since its original purpose was to pay homage to the sultan, great emphasis was put on the decorative details of the gate. Bab Mansour is thus intensely adorned by green and white zeillij tiles and engraved Koranic panels”. It is this fascinating history which inspired the shops interior.
Services and treatments include haircuts, wet shaves, beard and moustaches trims, as well as other little maintenance issues which men tend to have.
